Birthdays:
We love celebrating birthdays! If it is your
child’s birthday, you are encouraged to send a pre-packaged
treat for the class to share.
Daily Reading:
In First Grade, we teach reading and literacy
skills. It will greatly benefit your child as he/she learns to read
if you will read to or with him/her every night.
Dress:
Please send your child to school in clothes
he/she can move and get messy in, and shoes he/she can run in. No
flip-flops or shoes with wheels, please!
Helpers:
Each week, a small group of students will
be my “helpers.” These helpers will be assigned specific
responsibilities. Every Monday, the jobs will be reassigned to different
children.
Snack:
We eat snack during Language Arts. Each month,
you will receive a snack calendar in your child’s Communication
Folder. If you choose to be included in our snack schedule, please
send a pre-packaged, healthy snack for the class on the days your
child’s name is listed. Please remember to send enough food
for twenty children.
Transportation:
If your child is going to leave school in
a different manner than documented, please send a written note explaining
the changes. This note should be sent to school in your child’s
Daily Folder. If I do not receive a note, your child will go home
in his/her pre-determined method. This is a safety precaution, and
your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
